Monash Faculty of Art & Design's Visiting Artists & Designers Program is a dynamic residency prospect unique within Australia. It represents a significant professional development opportunity for an artist selected to participate in the program and for the staff and students of the Faculty of Art & Design.
Operating since 1999 the program has included artists from a variety of media, cultural backgrounds and with specific research and project interests. Artists who have participated in the program include Stelarc, Paul Brown, Caroline Locke, Paul Derrez, Mauruzio Bottarelli, Marie-Jeanne Hoffner, Janet Lawrence, John Aiken, Leonardo Ortega, Marie Strauss, and Si Sapsford.
Each year between 8-10 artists/designers have the opportunity to be based here at the Faculty of Art & Design, Caulfield. Located within 12km from the city the visiting artist program is a fantastic occasion to be fully immersed in one of the most vibrant contemporary art and design environments in Australia, Melbourne.

At the conclusion of a residency each artist is expected to leave a work to become part of the Monash Faculty Collection.
