Drawn Encounters, Complex Identities
A two day conference examining drawing as a means to document, encounter and exchange experiences of place and cultural identity, in the context of travel, diaspora and the colonial and post-colonial histories of Australia and the UK. Drawn Encounters, Complex Identities is a jointly hosted conference by The Centre for Drawing UAL, London, and the Faculty of Art & Design, Monash University, Melbourne. The conference brings together a range of international artists, critics and curators to focus on cultural interaction and exchange in fine art, with particular emphasis on the methodology of drawing.
