Honours Local Applicants

Local applicants are Australian citizens, holders of an Australian permanent resident’s visa and New Zealand citizens.

International applicants need to apply through International Recruitment Services

The Honours program is available at the Caulfield and Gippsland campuses.

  Closing Dates of Applications

  • Round One - All applications must be submitted by 5:00pm on 31 October each year for study commencing February the following year.
  • Round Two - All applications must be submitted by 5:00pm on 31 January each year for study commencing February that year.

  • Interviews for Round 1 - Design and Multimedia - between 1st December and 2nd December 2008
  • Interviews for Round 1 - Fine Art - between 24th November and 28th November 2008
  • Interviews for Round 2 - Thursday 5th February 2009

Enrolments: 

  • Enrolment for Round 1 - Monday 15th December 2008

  • Semester 1 2009 will commence on Monday 2nd March 2009

Application Procedure

Applicants must provide all of the following documentation no later than 31st October 2008 for Round 1 and Thursday 31st January 2009 for Round 2:

  • Honours Application Form.  Please ensure that you nominate the studio in which you wish to undertake your study
  • A detailed research proposal, outlining the aims, objectives and method of presentation of final submission
  • Certified transcripts of tertiary studies undertaken.  For non-Monash applications, it is preferred that transcripts certified by the registrar of the issuing institution(s) are submitted
  • Applicants must be interviewed with folio.  For international applicants the folio can be provided on a CD or as prints and no interview will be required.

Course Structure

The Honours Degree is a one year full time course that provides intensive study in the student’s selected area of studio practice.  It is supported by other relevant studies or Theory of Art and Design.

Enrolment

Applicants accepted as a candidate by the Faculty will be required to enrol by completing the official enrolment forms. 

Details on enrolment procedures will be sent to successful applicants with a letter offering candidature.  A fees statement will be issued by mail shortly after the enrolment date. 

Electives can be determined in consultation with the course coordinator.  Elective Guide

Credit

No credit or advanced standing will be provided in this course.
