Postgraduate International Applicants

International applicants are Non-Australian citizens and New Zealand permanent residents. Direct Entry is only offered to International applicants who are Non-Australian citizens and New Zealand permanent residents.

Coursework degrees or Research degrees

Masters in Research or Coursework applicants must apply directly to International Recruitment Services. Please use the International Postgraduate Application Form.

Mid-year enrolments for coursework applicants are only available for Master of Multimedia and Master of Multimedia Design (from 2008).

There is a minimum English requirement  for all Monash University courses.

Entry requirements for Courswork degrees:

Master of Design

A bachelors degree in art or design from Monash University or another recognised institution.

Applications should be accompanied by a folio of 10-15 pieces of recent, relevant work which may be on CD, as slides or as colour printouts, clearly numbered with a corresponding list of details attached.

Master of Multimedia

A bachelor degree in a discipline other than multimedia from Monash University or another recognised institution.

Master of Multimedia Design

A bachelor degree in any discipline from Monash University or another recognised institution.

Master of Visual Arts

A bachelor degree in art or design from Monash University or another recognised institution.

Applications should be accompanied by a folio of 10-15 pieces of recent, relevant work which may be on CD, as slides or a colour printouts, clearly numbered with a corresponding list of details attached.  A personal statement should be provided of no more than 200 words summarising the direction of their current practice, including materials, techniques and content.

Doctor of Philosophy

Doctor of Philosophy applicants must apply directly to International Recruitment Services on the Research Graduate School Doctor of Philosophy application.

Further information

Admission requirements for international students are the same as for local students with some important exceptions:

• For those courses with folio as a prerequisite for entry, applicants must submit a folio of 10 to 15 pieces of work with their application, with the exception of the following: Master of Arts, Theory only PhD and Master of Multimedia, Master of Multimedia Design
• International applicants must apply directly to International Recruitment Services  , please use the  International Undergraduate Application Form.
• Applicants would need to proof of their English language proficiency through  IELTS score or equivalent.
• Include certified copies of all prior academic transcripts

International students should visit the Future International Students website. It provides information about meeting the Australian Government requirements and conditions for study in Australia as well as Monash University's academic and English entry requirements and fee structures.
